RoarING insurance TVC showcases unique Malaysia
We are eager to share our latest project with ING Insurance Australia, which blends creativity and artistry while delivering a powerful message in a fun way.
Two commercials, one focusing on a tourist’s experience in India, and the other depicting a scene of a holiday resort, were shot in Malaysia. Staying true to ING Insurance Australia’s identity, the presence of a lion was infused in the commercials.
The Laman Seni Safari is a street with art murals in Klang, located some 40 minutes from the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The street was transformed into a spice market, complete with vibrant colours and textures, and lively exchanges that showcase India’s deep-rooted culinary heritage. It created a sensory adventure for the viewers.
The Chateau Spa & Wellness Resort in Bukit Tinggi, about an hour’s drive from the city centre, is a renowned luxury resort that paints a pretty picture when it comes to relaxation and leisure in travel promotions. This was reflected in the commercial, complete with a lush green rainforest serving as its backdrop. The resort is modeled after the 12th-century ‘Haut Koenisgsbourg’ castle in Alsace, France, and is ideal for travel commercials, and even movies featuring scenes at a highland resort.
The actors and special effects makeup of the two TVCs were sourced from Australia. Odd Studio worked on the prosthetics, while the computer-generated animation was done by The Mill. This was, among others, seen in the lion’s mane donned by the main characters in the two TVCs, and the presence of a lion in the scenes.
Nick Simkins, the Executive Producer of the commercials, shared: “It was a large, art department-heavy two-day job with the team from The Tankers in June. We had a wonderful experience shooting in Malaysia.
“The crew was great, the art department was excellent, and so was the technical crew. We were looked after by Pete and his production staff.
“Everything came in on budget, and both the commercials looked rich and detailed. Our client was very happy with the results. I look forward to working in Malaysia again soon,” Simkins added.
